Despite its relatively small size, Cartmel holds or enjoys a number of events for residents and visitors alike ranging from the small and routine to the more infrequent and spectacular.

Also, a number of individuals and groups are active in keeping Cartmel a vibrant and thriving village and we thought it fitting to film some of their work.

A flower pageant in September 2015 told the story of progress and evolution in the UK in the 800 years since the sealing of the Magna Carta during a week long celebration of the founder of the Cartmel Priory, William Marshall’s role in the signing of the Magna Carta by King John.
