Update from Cumbria County Council on Household Waste Recycling Centres – Guides Lot, Grange over Sands

The Household Waste Recycling Centre at Guides Lot in Grange over Sands is set to reopen on Thursday, May 28^th, with a booking system in place.

A Cumbria County Council spokesman said that they closed the site on May 15^th due to the number of people trying to access the site, meaning that maintaining safe social distancing was proving to be extremely difficult. On the whole all of the Council’s sites have coped well with the demand, with the exception of Grange, whose access road was unable to cope with the volume of traffic.

People wishing to use the Grange Recycling Centre can book a slot by calling 0300 003 1118 between 09.00 and 17.00 two days ahead of their visit. Those who do not have a booking will not be able to access the site.
